Paul Gilbert

Bumblefoot

Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, producer, and world-renowned guitar virtuoso, with over 25 years of releasing music, playing international festivals and headlining tours, and gracing magazine covers as a solo artist.

Bumblefoot is lead singer and guitarist of the legendary progressive rock band Asia (featuring Geoff Downes, Carl Palmer, and Billy Sherwood), and guitarist of progressive rock band Sons Of Apollo (featuring Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian, and Jeff Scott Soto). Formerly a member of rock groups Art Of Anarchy (2011 – 2017, including STP/Velvet Revolver vocalist Scott Weiland, Creed vocalist Scott Stapp and Disturbed bassist John Moyer) and Guns N’ Roses (2006 – 2014), Bumblefoot toured sold-out shows all over the world, headlining festivals with crowds up to 150,000. Bumblefoot is also an accomplished composer whose music is often heard in TV, film and video games, including the theme song to VH1’s “That Metal Show”. Bumblefoot is an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Purchase College teaching music production, works with U.S. Embassies around the world on cross-cultural music programs, has his own line of award-winning hot sauces, and works with dozens of international charities visiting orphanages and children’s hospitals around the world with guitar in hand.

Eric Gales

Growing up in a religious household, his brothers Eugene and Manuel used to blast out Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Muddy Waters, Blue Cheer, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, King’s X and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Whilst their mother was at church and little Eric was aged just 4 , he was soaking it all up and this is where he had his incredible grounding of blues, hard rock and psychedelia. Naturally right handed, Eric learned his distinctive left handed upside down playing from his older brothers Eugene, his ‘mentor’ and Little Jimmy King, who was later adopted as Albert King’s godson.

His talents caught the eye of Elektra Records, who released his debut album The Eric Gales Band in 1991 when he was only 16 years old. The band was made up of Eric, his older brother Eugene and drummer Huwbert Crawford. Picture of a Thousand Faces followed in 1993, then Manuel Gales (aka Little Jimmy King) joined his two brothers for 1995s Left Hand Band as The Gales Brothers. Over the next few years he worked on varioud projects including performing as Lil E with Hip Hop collectives Prophet Posse and Triple 6 Mafia.

In 2001 he returned and released his first album on MCA records ‘That’s What I Am’ before moving to Mike Varney’s legendary shredder label, Shrapnel Records for ‘Crystal Vision’ (2006) and ‘The Psychedelic Underground’ (2007). Four album on Blues Bureau Internation followed; ‘The Story of My Life’ (2008), ‘Layin’ Down The Blues’ (2009), ‘Relentless’ (2010) and ‘Transformation’ (2010).

In 2009 he spent in jail serving at the Shelby County Correction Center in 2009 for possession of drugs and a weapon. Talking about this he says; “While I was in there all the officers and guards were like, ‘bro you know this isn’t where you’re supposed to be. When you get out of here, go take the world by the horns and ride it all the way out.’ It took a couple of years after but, I’m here.” Whilst he was incarcerated he was able to play shows, for the Mayor, the city and festivals, his own version of Johnny Cash Walk the Line.

The all instrumental ‘Ghost Notes’ (Tone Center Records) came in 2013 along with ‘Pinnick Gales Pridgen’ (Magna Carta). The latter was a collaboration with dUg Pinnick (Kings X) and Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta, Suicidal Tendencies) and the sequal come in 2014 with another fusion of psychedelic blues, hard rock and progressive soul/R&B. He then released ‘Good for Sumthin’ in 2014 (Cleopatra Records)in addition to live album ‘A Night on the Sunset Strip’ (2016).

As a renowned guitarist he has performed with: Carlos Santana at Woodstock in 1994 and in July 2016, Zakk Wylde who also appeared on 2014s Good For Sumthin’ and Eric Johnson who also appeared on the same album. He also toured as part of the Experience Hendrix tour with legend after legend including Bootsy Collins & Robert Randolph and has also collaborated with Lauryn Hill many times.

During the Experience Hendrix tour he had the opportunity to hold his own against some of the greatest guitarists in the world. “The tours were a great experience, but what ultimately what that done for me is to help me make me get myself together. So, I can go out and pack out those venues myself, that other guitarists on that tour were packing out.”
“I try to push myself as hard as I can, especially live, it’s like an extreme work out for me, it’s like something else takes over. When I hit the stage, some other person is on that stage for some reason, I’m there physically as a witness, but mentally it’s another person.”

In 2017 Provogue/Mascot Label Group released ‘Middle of the Road’ which he describes as his “rebirth” following issues with drink and drugs and had collaborations with Gary Clark Jr., young guitarist Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Eugene Gales and Lauryn Hill.

“It’s about being fully focussed and centred in the middle of the road. If you’re on the wrong side and in the gravel you’re not too good and if you’re on the median strip that’s not too good either, so being in the middle of the road is the best place to be.”

‘Middle of the Road’, was released in February 2017 and reached #1 on the iTunes Blues chart and #4 on the Billboard Blues chart. In the UK it made Classic Rock Magazine and Total Guitar albums of the year with the latter saying it was “the album that should define his career.” Classic Rock said “the notes drip from Gales’ fretboard like warm honey”, The Guitar Magazine exclaimed it’s the “the injection of danger and unpredictability that the blues-rock scene desperately needs”, Blues Matters professed “truly the man is blessed”, whilst Powerplay said “the more you listen to it the more the brilliance of Eric Gales becomes apparent.”

Since then he has toured almost non-stop; playing shows with Gary Clark Jr., Beth Hart, Gov’t Mule and called through Australia, Argentina, Chile, US and Europe – including the Rockin’ The Blues run with Gary Hoey, Quinn Sullivan and Lance Lopez. He played his first ever headline tour in the UK and Ireland to sold out crowds, took a starring role as part of Supersonic Blues Machine at the UKs Ramblin’ Man Fair and also found time to play a one off reunion show as The Eric Gales Band. This is not to mention his collaborations with funk royalty Bootsy Collins (‘World Wide Funk’), The Apocalypse Blues Revue (Shannon Larkin/Tony Rombola of Godsmack) and Supersonic Blues Machine (‘Californisoul’).

It’s no wonder why he is the guitarists’ favourite guitarist, counting fans in the likes of Tony Rombola (Godsmack), Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders), Joe Bonamassa and Carlos Santana. Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) said “how Eric Gales isn’t the hugest name in rock guitar is a total mystery” and Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) also claimed “this guy could be the best player on Earth.”

Gales proudly tells his story every night before every show, now over two years sober he is creating some of the most breath-taking music he has ever made. Talking about his approach to song writing in this time he reflects. “I guess the songs would answer the question more or less, I definitely don’t have anything clouding my view and it’s definitely a much more pure place its coming from.”

In December 2018, he annouced that he will be releasing his new studio album ‘The Bookends’ (Provogue/Mascot Label Group) on 8th February 2019. The album was recorded with Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Faith No More, The Replacements) and features collaborations with Beth Hart, Doyle Bramhall II and B. Slade.

Greg Howe

In his 30 year career, Greg Howe has produced, written and arranged nine solo instrumental studio albums along with two collaboration albums with Richie Kotzen of the Winery Dogs. In addition, Howe has contributed to a long list of albums/records by other artists.
Howe has also developed a solid reputation as a technical innovator, particularly for his strong utilization of tapping, unusual time signatures and his “hammer-on from nowhere” legato method. His self-titled debut album “Greg Howe” is ranked tenth best shred album of all time by Guitar World Magazine.

Greg Howe has collaborated with artists such as Dennis Chambers, Victor Wooten, Richie Kotzen, Jason Becker, Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, Simon Phillips, Marco Minneman, and Eddie Jobson.

He’s also made a name for himself as a stellar sideman and session musician with artists like Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, and many more

His TV appearances include The Grammy’s, American Music Awards, The Tonight Show, The Today Show, The Billboard Awards, Teen Choice Awards, just to name a few.

In 2006, Shrapnel Records celebrated Greg’s 20 year career with “Collection – The Shrapnel Years” – an album containing some of his best musical moments – comprised of shred fest ditties such as “Bad Racket” and “Joker’s Wild,” as well as the popular “Jump Start” and the funky “Howe ‘Bout It.” These tracks also contain standout performances by some of the greatest musicians in progressive music, including drummers Dennis Chambers and Atma Anur, Keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij, as well as bassists Billy Sheehan and Victor Wooten along with other world class players.

In 2012 Greg Howe decide to take a break from the instrumental world and announced that he would be putting together a rock band named Maragold, which had much international success.

In 2017 Howe joined the powerhouse band ‘Protocol’ featuring Simon Phillips on drums, Ernest Tibbs on bass, and Otmaro Ruiz on keys.
The Protocol 4 album was nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Greg Howe’s new album, “Wheelhouse” marks a highly anticipated return to his solo instrumental work. It features Greg Howe at his best along with an appearance from guitar legend Richie Kotzen (Winery Dogs, Mr. Big) and legendary keyboardist Ronnie Foster (Stevie Wonder, George Benson). George Lynch

Guitarist George Lynch is one of a long line of guitarists to come from the California hard rock world. But one distinction that separates him from the rest of the pack is that he remains to be musically relevant in 2006 than the others. For some, success was fleeting but none have left their indelible mark like Lynch has. He has survived the shortcomings of the tangled music business. With a career that spans 30 years, George continues his legacy with new recordings that inspire fans around the world.

George Lynch was born on September 28, 1954 in Spokane, WA. and raised in northern California. He began learning to play guitar at the age of 10 and throughout his teenage years, performed in several bands out of the Sacramento, Ca. area. Most notable from this era of his formative career was the band Sergeant Rocks. From here, he set his sights on Los Angeles where he would be involved in The Boyz and Xciter in the late 1970s.

Xciter brought George to the spotlight during this blossoming L.A. scene. Playing the L.A. club circuit garnered a large following for Lynch as a guitarist and it was clear that he was already taking the necessary steps that would lead him to success in the 1980s. He had become a product of Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck and was already beginning to reach for the outer limits of his guitar playing. Though the crowd of guitar gunslingers was led by Edward Van Halen and Randy Rhoads, Lynch was never in their shadow as the years would come to prove. His rise to prominence came when he joined Dokken and toured relentlessly throughout much of the decade.

Much of Dokken’s success is credited to George Lynch’s guitarmanship and songwriting. He recorded five highly successful albums from 1983 to 1988 with that band to propel him as one of the most influential rock guitarists in modern music. Another distinction that separates him from others of this genre is that his guitar playing earned Dokken a Grammy nomination in 1989 for Best Rock Instrumental. Even Van Halen had yet to receive any nomination at this time.
George’s tenure with Dokken ended in 1989 and he was set to begin again. With the new decade came a new Lynch. A bolder stylist and more knowledgeable guitarist was found in him, as he formed the first incarnation of Lynch Mob. Recording two albums with this band, and going back on the road to support them kept Lynch in the public eye. But he was yearning for a further approach to the guitar. While still promoting his work with Lynch Mob, he began work on a solo endeavor titled, “Sacred Groove.”

“Sacred Groove” was released in 1993 and it afforded Lynch the capacity to display different musical and guitar styles. He clearly established himself as an eclectic musician with this volume of work. Having satisfied this, George Lynch decided to take a few years off to spend time with his children and enjoy life for a while in Arizona. He became athletic and established a healthy lifestyle that he maintains to this day.

Dokken reformed without the use of Lynch but when a record company refused to release a new Dokken record without Lynch, phone calls were made in late 1994. Lynch came in to fulfill the requests of the record company and round two with the band began. Recording two more Dokken records and three more years of touring were soon to follow but he departed again in 1997. This would be his final venture with Dokken. Lynch was set again to broaden his musical spectrum.
1998 kept George Lynch working on a different version of Lynch Mob. With a new line-up, “Smoke This” was an album that was a culmination of Lynch’s playing styles with a new approach. The result was a heavy techno metal sound that featured a newer approach to hard rock guitar. Touring with this newer band in 1999 brought Lynch to a whole new audience and with it came a renewed interest in bringing together the original Lynch Mob sound to a younger audience.
Lynch soldiered on, entering the millennium with a very busy recording and touring schedule. After completing a US tour in 2001, he immediately began work with former Dokken band mate, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Michael Frowein on what was to become a lengthy album titled “Wicked Underground,” released in early 2003.

The project grew out of song ideas that began with Frowein at Lynch’s Stonehouse Studios the previous year with Pilson in mind to join in the completion of these songs. The collaboration proved to inspire Pilson and Lynch to dedicating themselves to pursuing a full length record together. What began as a three-month project turned into a year and a half death march to complete. “Wicked Underground” was completed under the name LP (Lynch/Pilson). Delivered to stores in April 2003, it featured “Basquiatesque” cover artwork by the album’s co-engineer, Tommy Hendrickson.

Just after finishing the Lynch/Pilson recordings, while maintaining his stride, Lynch stayed in the studio, reworking the sound of the earlier Lynch Mob and Dokken material. The approach here was, to re-visit hallowed ground and re-build songs the way he originally intended them to sound but with a heavier dropped-tuned sound and new arrangements. George re-assembled with Mob band members, Robert Mason and Anthony Esposito, along with Frowein on drums. Together, they reinvented the spirit and fire of early Lynch compositions onto an album titled, “Revolution,” also released in 2003. Fans would then see George touring and performing in front of new audiences while re-visiting dedicated fans around the world. The tour was documented in a live CD that is be accompanied with a video/DVD titled, “Revolution Live”.

The guitar work on both “Wicked Underground” and “Revolution” demonstrated Lynch’s consistency with his signature sound while balancing a more experimental side, stepping outside the boundaries of his already established technique. This factor alone won the attention of many young musicians and has had a part in influencing the resurgence of rock guitar in today’s popular music scene. But while his new recordings were thriving, Lynch began working on a recording of honored classics. The retro album, “Furious George” was released in 2004, containing songs that inspired his playing career.

Following a 2004 tour in support of “Furious George,” Lynch completed the year with a passionate piece of work, a compilation titled “The Lost Anthology.” Through the years, George has held on to completed material that has never seen the light of day, some of which came from his pre-Dokken years. This is an important album because “The Lost Anthology” exhibits his natural progression and growth as a musician, guitarist and songwriter. Spanning over thirty years, “The Lost Anthology” exhibits his earliest recordings at age 15 through some of his early bands to the later successes. It also explores some choice examples of missing links from Dokken and Lynch Mob and an interesting cross-section of some of Lynch’s later projects never released to the public. Some of these selections include sessions titled “Micro-Dot,” featuring vocalist, London LeGrand (from Brides of Destruction) and “Band of Flakes” with bassist/producer Jason Slater (from Snake River Conspiracy). An example of George’s producer skills can also be heard with his work with Australian pop vocalist/actress, Michelle Joan Smith.

Lynch will always be re-evolving as a musician. One factor that keeps him evolving is his constant quest for the ultimate guitar tone. Many musical instrument manufactures consult with George creatively to produce equipment helpful to himself and other musicians. Many products now bear his name.

The most notable endorsement, ESP Guitars, has held George as their highest profile endorser for close to 20 years. Electric guitar pickup guru, Seymour Duncan honored George with his own signature series pickup called the “Screamin’ Demon” in 1990 and reigns as one of the Duncan company’s most popular items to date. In recent years, George conceived the design for a triple amp selector switching system called the “Tripler” and is now being manufactured by Morley. American Recording Technology manufactures and distributes the George Lynch Signature guitar, patch and speaker cables, which he uses onstage and in the studio. George has represented Dean Markley strings as he has been using them on recordings and on tour for many years. He has proven to be a highly marketable commodity for all of these manufacturers.

Randall Amplifiers unveiled the new George Lynch signature series “Lynch Box” amplifier in 2006. This 100-watt amplifier is the product of years of research and development done by Lynch and his close working relationship with Randall’s engineering team. Yamaha’s acoustic guitar division now represents George’s acoustic endeavors.

With a clearer vision of his music, Lynch always stays busy creatively. The career move from doing things the corporate way shifted to doing things his way…internally incorporated, maintaining creative control of his music and the business of his music. Lynch always broadens his musical scope with new self- produced music. This approach will be sure to capture and continue to influence fans for years to come.

Tony MacAlpine

Tony MacAlpine is widely known as a guitar virtuoso who is just as skilled on the keys. Edge of Insanity, one of his twelve solo albums, is still considered as one of the top ten shred guitar albums of all time. Aside from his solo work, Tony has also been part of several rock supergroups including Planet X with Derek Sherinian and Virgil Donati, PSMS (Portnoy/Sheehan/MacAlpine/Sherinian), as well as the Grammy nominated CAB with bassist Bunny Brunel and drummer Dennis Chambers. MacAlpine also spent seven years playing guitar and keys in Steve Vai‘s touring band.

Following a battle with cancer which sidelined the guitarist for much of 2015 and 2016, Tony returns a clean bill of health, and his new album Death of Roses, out September 1, 2017, with a North American tour in September and October.

Mike Varney

Mike Varney is an American musician, record producer, music publisher, and impresario. He is the founder of the Shrapnel Label Group, which includes Shrapnel Records, Tone Center Records and Blues Bureau International. He also has a 50% stake in Magna Carta Records, a New York-based label. Amazon.com currently lists over 790 albums as being released by record labels founded or owned by Mike Varney. He is often credited with being the individual most responsible for popularizing the mid-1980s shred guitar boom and has continuously specialized in producing highly acclaimed musicians within the genres of instrumental rock, hard rock, jazz, jazz fusion, blues, blues-rock, progressive metal, and speed metal.

Mike Boyko

Mike has enjoyed a thirty-year career as a professional drummer/recording artist. He has performed around the world with A-list groups in the music industry. Career highlights include drumming for Smashmouth, heavy metal band Ludichrist/Scatterbrain and UK pop-rock band FAT, which toured with Third Eye Blind and Sugar Ray. Most recently Mike played with hip-hop rock band 2 Skinnee J’s, which opened for Outkast, Ludacris, Jurassic 5, Incubus and 311. He’s also performed with guitar legends Larry Mitchell, Steve Vai, Jeff (Skunk) Baxter, Steve Morse and Brian Hardgroove (Public Enemy).

In the past decade, through his company Tempo in Motion, Mike has translated his percussion expertise and refined knowledge of rhythm to athletic training and performance. His system applies the method of utilizing beats and music theory to the practice and mastery of proper swing and tempo. Mike worked with Jordan Spieth as a junior and has been highlighted on the Golf Channel. He works with golfers of all ages and ranges of abilities connecting them to their authentic rhythm and most focused performance.

Stephanie Bradley

Stephanie Bradley has been playing guitar for 15 years and teaching for almost as long. Since the moment she first picked up a guitar, she hasn’t put it down. Her instrument is truly a part of her, as you can see in the joy in her face every time she plays.

Stephanie has become a regular exhibitor at NAMM and other trade shows for a wide variety of companies, and has also been a hired gun for multiple bands; performing shows all over the country and at major festivals like Bonnaroo.

Stephanie has studied under some of the world’s top guitar players; Bruce Bouillet (Racer X), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big/Racer X/Solo Artist), and Chris Broderick (Megadeth/Nevermore). And now, her skill and personality have made her an extremely sought after teacher herself, both online and in person.

While still teaching over 30 students a week, she also worked at award-winning composer Hans Zimmer’s recording studio where she learned how to compose for television and major motion pictures. After her time at the studio, she went on to find her favorite niche, consulting clients in the music industry and making high-quality promotional guitar videos for them. Stephanie has taken her guitar skills and mixed them with her digital media marketing skills to build not only her own guitar career, but help some of the biggest music companies and musicians with theirs. Alongside her husband, their company’s clients include Gator Cases, Levy’s Leathers, Steve Vai, Billy Ray Cyrus, ESP Guitars, Megadeth’s A-Tout Le Mond Beer, and many more.

Guy Brogna

The quote “Music is not what I do, it’s who I am” can be seen all over the world on posters, inspirational websites, etc., etc., but few musicians and music enthusiasts can truly say they live by it. Owner and operator of Plainview’s All Music Inc., a Long Island staple for over 36 years, and internationally touring musician Guy Brogna, however, is one of those few. As a former touring musician turned businessman, his story is one of both interest and intrigue.

Another local musician who grew up going to the All Music Inc.–which was started by local musician Irwin Natman in 1984–Guy was a touring musician with the bands Ludichrist and Scatterbrain, and had albums out on Relativity Records and Elektra Records as well as music videos on MTV. He made a deal with Irwin to thank ALL MUSIC on the band’s records in exchange for having his bass guitars set up for recording and touring. Fast forward to 2001, Guy is now off the road and Irwin approaches him to join the business. For the next 10 years, they built ALL MUSIC into one of the largest guitar stores in NY adding brands like Gibson, Fender, Martin, Taylor, Gretsch as well as building the lesson program to over 400 students, renting over 1500 instruments to local budding musicians and doing repairs for guitarists such as Richie Blackmore, Jessie Lacey from Brand New, Toby Walker and Brian Daniels from Madball!

In 2012, Guy took over and continues to run and grow the business throughout even more changes to the musical landscape. He continues to look for up and coming or exclusive companies to work with like Cole Clark, Larrivee, Walla Walla, RocknRoll Amps and more.

With Guy’s ties to Long Island music, he feels the need for community outreach. He partners with radio station WBAB for intimate shows at the store or radio station like Devon Allman, Warren Haynes and Geoff Tate from Queensryche and does food and toy drives with Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank and ROCKcanROLL as well as Dee Snider’s motorcycle run for Melissa’s Wish. ALL MUSIC likes to also have informative and entertaining clinics in the store and have had guests like Larry Mitchell, Mike Orlando (Adrenalin Mob), John Moyer (Disturbed), Greg Koch, Michael Angelo Batio, Manelli Jamal (Cole Clark endorsee), Joe Rock and Mark Mendoza (Twisted Sister – Joe Rock and the All Stars). With the help of long time staff members, ALL MUSIC is always looking for new and exciting products to bring to their customers. As well, they look for used, vintage and eclectic items to fill their eBay warehouse where they ship these treasures around the globe.

One of Guy’s most recent efforts has been with Special Needs Music Educator and Musician Lee Stockner. They are the founders of “Music Lee Inclined Guy, Inc.” which produced the revolutionary book series Occupational Octaves Piano. OOP is designed for students with Autism and other special needs to be able to easily and effectively play the piano through a new language of music, now with training and certification available for instructors of various backgrounds related to the worlds of Special Education, Music Education, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy and more. They have opened locations in NY, California, Florida and overseas in Bahrain, Jordan, and Ireland.

Teaming up with Long Island music emprisario Rick Eberle to form G&R Events in 2017, they currently run the concert season at the Jones Beach Bandshell. The season brings great music and entertainment for thousands of Long Island families each year.

Chris Cisneros

Rock-Fusion guitarist, composer, and producer, Cisneros has dedicated over four decades to his musical calling with a special love for melding music from various genres with cultures from around the world. This passion fuels his desire to help players uncover the gift of musical self-discovery, connection through performance, and the art of listening.

Cisneros studied Classical guitar, Jazz, Flamenco, and traditional Indian music, and continues to learn each time he picks up the instrument. He enjoys performing with various groups ranging from small ensembles to Latin Jazz Big Bands, Rock bands as well Rock band backed by an orchestra and has been honored to share the stage with many well-known, accomplished names in the business.



Chris delights in being part of the Dreamcatcher Events team and particularly loves helping campers immerse, learn, and cherish the experiences for years to come. Cisneros is blessed with making many friends that will last a lifetime, and looks forward to making more new friends at this camp!

Doug Doppler

With a disc out on Steve Vai’s esteemed Favored Nations label, tours supporting the likes of Michael Schenker, and a session background that includes Guitar Hero, Doug Doppler clearly took the lessons he learned as a student of Joe Satriani to heart.

In 2014 Doug launched GearTunes.com to connect the dots between gear, demos, and dealers. The GearTunes marketing platform helps brands get their message to market by engaging gear enthusiasts in new and innovative ways.

Doug remains a passionate music educator, offering Skype lessons, and teaching one day a week at the same Berkeley teaching studio he inherited from Joe Satriani.

Pete Griffin

Growing up a few miles from New York City, Pete got his first bass at thirteen and quickly realized his deep love of the instrument. When Pete’s early bass mentor/idol, Dan Binggelli, passed away at the age of nineteen, Pete decided to dedicate his life to pursuing a career in music.

Pete obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the prestigious Northwestern University, studying jazz and classical in school while playing rock and pop gigs around Chicago. The day after graduation, he packed all his belongings in his car and moved to Los Angeles. Within a few years, Pete found himself touring the world with Grammy nominated pop-rock band Hanson, as well as playing gigs with classic rock icon Edgar Winter.

In 2006 Pete joined Zappa Plays Zappa, a tribute band dedicated to playing the music of Frank Zappa led by Zappa’s son, Dweezil. Having grown up listening to Zappa music, Pete enthusiastically dove into playing this nearly impossible material with complete accuracy and authenticity. Zappa Plays Zappa toured the world several times over, won a Grammy Award in 2008, and was joined onstage by such legendary musicians as Steve Vai, Terry Bozzio, George Duke, Chick Corea, Eric Johnson, Stanley Clarke, Mike Portnoy, and many others.

Having re-created some of his favorite music for nearly 6 years, Pete left the Zappa band in late 2011 to focus on creating new music, both with his own band Gryphon Labs (featuring other members of Zappa Plays Zappa) as well as other LA based bands in all genres, from technical metal to intelligent pop. In late 2012, Pete toured with the cartoon death metal band Dethklok, from the Adult Swim TV show Metalocalypse, featuring guitarist/creator Brendon Small, drummer extraordinaire Gene Hoglan, and guitarist Mike Keneally.

Pete curently lives in Los Angeles where he performs, records, and teaches on a regular basis.

Bill Ray

Bill Ray has been playing drums since the beginning. Finding his father’s drums at 15 months old and discovering the power of 2 & 4, his purpose on this plane of existence was set in motion at the age of four, having seen the local drum guru perform a drum solo at his parents’ photography studio in Jackson, MS.

In 1989 a move to California was inevitable, and taking gigs of any musical style turned out to be a fertile training ground. In 2001 Ike Turner offered BR the gig and as he said many times “Billy Ray is the drummer of my soul”. Bill played with Ike on up to the end of his life and played on his 2007 Grammy Award-winning album “Risin’ With The Blues”. Bill also holds over 150 other album credits to his career in all styles of music from Rock to Jazz, Country, R&B, Funk, and Eclectic “experimental” styles. Bill has been playing with guitar virtuoso legend Paul Gilbert and has appeared on his last three releases “PG30”, “Behold Electric Guitar” and “Werewolves of Portland”.
